Getting closer to the action is easy with a Canon 45x Advanced Zoom – the quality of genuine Canon optics and the power of DIGIC DV processing bring even distant subjects near. An Electronic Image Stabilizer (EIS) helps eliminate camera shake and keeps movies looking smooth.
Megapixel video
A Megapixel CCD allows you to capture high quality video that appears crisp and clear on the screen.
Wide life
Record stunning, panoramic widescreen movies in true 16:9. You can even monitor your video footage the way it appears on a widescreen TV via the 2.7" 16:9 LCD. To conserve battery power, use the wide colour EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) instead.
Spontaneous shooting
Thanks to Quick Start technology, the MD255 can be powered up in around one second – ensuring that you’ll never miss the moment again.
Versatile and easy
With a one-push Easy mode, even total novices can use the MD255 to shoot great-looking footage. A handy joystick controller, located on the frame of the LCD, provides easy access to more sophisticated moviemaking features. The multiangle remote control gives you even greater shooting freedom: with a remote sensor positioned on the camcorder’s fold out LCD screen, simply angle the screen towards you to shoot from virtually any location.
DIGIC DV
With the unique processing power of DIGIC DV, capture movies that are defined by vivid and vibrant colours – see more of real life. DIGIC DV uses sophisticated split path processing to optimise colours for photos and videos separately, achieving the very best results.
LCD Video Light
The MD255 lets you use the 2.7” LCD screen as a handy video light. When turned to face your shooting subject, it provides enough illumination to let you record close-up in poorly-lit situations.
Advanced photo features
Shoot high quality still images straight to SD or SDHC (High Capacity) memory cards – the easiest way to share photos. Alternatively, print directly to a PictBridge compatible printer.
USB 2.0 Full Speed
Via a USB 2.0 connection, photos can be transferred to a PC for editing or viewing in a matter of seconds.
Software Solution Disk
Still images are easily transferred, then managed on a computer using supplied software.
